The INCITE Awards

The INCITE Awards is WA’s longest running Tech Awards Program (since 1991) and the premier event in ICT for our State. The program showcase’s and supports ICT innovators in WA through an Awards system that places their technology innovation on the national and global stage.

Since inception the INCITE Awards has received 819 applications from tech innovators across all ages and industry sectors. Over 306 of these have gone on to be winners at the national iAwards. The program involves a mentored pitch fest, judging presentation, an Awards gala event, and a national / international pathway for selected entries.

History of the INCITE Awards

The Australian Computer Society (ACS)  founded WAITTA 31 years ago. The Society ran the Alliance for more than 25 years before the independent organisation was formed.

The Australian Computer Society is an association for information and communications technology professionals with over 45,000 members Australia-wide.

The ACS  established WAITTA in 1991 with the intention of recognising outstanding performance and contributions by members of the ICT and telecommunications community in Western Australia.

During the 23rd WAITTA dinner, the program was rebranded as The INCITE Awards. While the name and look was changed and had a refreshed appearance, the heart and soul of the awards remains the same: a showcase of the brilliance of ICT & T in Western Australia.

The INCITE Awards replaced ‘The WAITTA Awards’ as the premier awards event in the Western Australian ICT industry.

The “WAITTA” acronym was repurposed, with an expanded mission as the Western Australian Information Technology and Telecommunications Alliance (WAITTA).

Representatives from a wide range of professional and industry bodies, as well as representatives from government and private organisations sit on the Organising Committee and/or Judging Panels and support and assist WAITTA.

If you’re interested in WAITTA or one of its awards, or you are part of an industry body not listed here, but wish to be part of WAITTA then please contact us to discuss how we can work together.
