In 2020, The INCITE Awards will celebrate 29 years of showcasing the achievements of WA innovators in the ICT industry.

We are proudly working with hundreds of innovators to help shape the emerging and growing phases of digital innovation in WA and beyond!

As the Hon Dave Kelly, the WA Minister for Innovation & ICT commented in his press statement on the 28th INCITE Awards for 2019:

“The WAITTA INCITE Awards have helped solidify Western Australia’s reputation for producing ingenious, innovative solutions. I congratulate all the finalists and winners on their achievements….

“The impressive innovations we’ve seen at the WAITTA INCITE Awards demonstrate that fostering ingenuity in ICT creates new opportunities and will be a key driver for future jobs and economic growth in WA.”

So, why enter the INCITE Awards?

There are many positive benefits from a personal and professional perspective!

In this article, Sue Findlay – Chair of the INCITE Awards – will share why digital innovators in WA should be involved.

REASON 1: National and International Awards Pathways

The INCITE Awards have taken our finalists and winners over the last 28 years to many places?

Our awards program provides pathways for Wesyern Australian businesses and organisations to access national and international audiences.

Here are some of the global platforms where INCITE Awards finalists and winners can further showcase their innovation to:

What cannot be expressed in words here are the networks, contacts, possibilities and opportunities that awaits you at these awards, as one previous winner commented:

“After being successful at the INCITE awards our newfound confidence served us well on a national and international level.

Events conducive to networking almost every night saw us meeting ICT professionals and intellectuals from around the globe truly priceless contacts. All four events were a giant boost to our confidence and served as a great way to close the “Higher Education” chapter of our lives.”

REASON 2: Places you, your product and Western Australia “on the map”

“What is happening in WA??!!” was one comment that Sue Findlay – Chair of the INCITE Awards kept on hearing at the 2019 iAwards in Melbourne recently.

WA received 4 wins and 6 Merits in the categories of Junior Students, Senior Students, Undergraduate Student, Community Service Markets, Industrial & Primary Industries, Infrastructure & Platforms, Data & Insights, Research and Development and Startup!

This type of recognition cements WA’s status as a strong leader in Tech, ICT and Telecommunications in our Australia.

The INCITE Awards helps place your tech into the state marketplace and industry. The opportunities your tech can receive locally to launch your global presence from the Awards is limitless.

REASON 3: Better understanding of how to present your organisation

Being part of the INCITE Awards will challenge you to create the “perfect pitch” for your and your tech.

As you would appreciate, the right presentation of you, your company and your product is so essential to get the attention of that judge, an audience of potential users and buyers, funding bodies and future investors!

Our qualified and experienced judging panel and volunteer mentors who have years and years of successful experience in this field will help you with coaching and creating the perfect pitch that you can use and refine again and again.

This type of experience is invaluable – imagine a room full of judges who have been successful entrepreneurs, business and community leaders, tech success stories – accessible to you for questions, advice and guidance!

One participant summarises the value of the experience as:

“The hands on approach of the WAITTA team towards the INCITE Awards makes you really focus on what is required. When it comes to the national awards, the WAITTA team goes into overdrive. Their support is amazing.

I took this refocused approach and applied it to the national iAwards and it made sense what they were saying. It must have worked. Because to receive one award and one merit was fantastic. But then win the Australian Government AIIA Award for the Innovation of the Year was amazing. It is the WAITTA INCITE Awards that gives you that gateway towards this experience.”
