The need for a more cost effective and impactful way to conduct raffle fundraising saw the Royal Life Saving Society of WA (RLSSWA) partner with INCITE Awards winner – Diversus – an Australian technology and business innovation company. The result: a digital platform that has helped RLSSWA raise $4.7 million.

Dien Tang, Director of Diversus explained that while the principle behind raffle fundraising is still considered to be an engaging method to attract much needed funds, the delivery behind it is ageing and shrinking in our increasingly digital world.

“Traditionally, raffle tickets are sold over the phone, via direct mail or face-to-face. However, the costs associated with each of these activities has increased exponentially,” explained Dien.

“The Royal Life Saving Society of WA came to us with the challenge they faced, which is the need to fundraise to deliver important community services but with little or no budget.”

“Upon hearing about the challenge, we at Diversus thought that there is a need to innovate with a new approach to benefit not only the RLSSWA but other not for profits faced with the same challenge.”

“Our initial research into current digital solutions showed that no organisation provided an end-to-end solution to digitalise raffle fundraising.”

So with that in mind, Dien and his Diversus team started developing “Auraffles” – a raffle fundraising digital solution that is modern, easy to use and accessible anywhere, anytime on any device.

“Auraffles enables existing and potential donors to purchase raffle tickets with just 4 clicks end-to-end: choose the amount of tickets, buy tickets, enter payment details, and confirm the payment” explained Dien.

“With Auraffles we have automated the manual back-office processing such as printing and posting the tickets and doing tele follow ups, contributing to savings in time and costs.”

The platform provides further resource saving and empowering tools, including real-time analytics for measuring results and optimising solution for increased engagement, and integration of social and email marketing for increased customer reach.

With Auraffles being scalable, transferable and compatible with many third party payment integration systems, the team at Diversus was soon inundated with requests from 25 other Australian not for profit organisations to take advantage of the platform.

“Essentially with Auraffles, not for profit organisations are running highly successful digital fundraising raffle campaigns, with seamlessly integrated click-to-donate technology” said Dien.

“The easy to integrate, custom branding with set up in less than one day capabilities of Auraffles means that organisations with little or no IT or technology support can effectively and efficiently self-manage their digital fundraising.”

Since launching Auraffles and winning the Business Service Markets category at the 2017 INCITE Awards, Diversus’ innovation has been the chosen fundraising solution for over 185 raffle campaigns, raising $4.7 million for over 25 Australian charities.

And this is just the beginning, with Diversus continually improving the platform to streamline the customer experience.

“There are already several requests on the roadmap for the next phase of the solution, such as crowdfunding, auctions, shopping cart, client self-service and draw program, all of which we are excited about and believe will further empower not for profits to raise much needed funds,” said Dien.
